What is EESTEC?
EESTEC (Electrical Engineering Students European assoCiation ) is a non polical organization, non lucrative , composed by and for students of Electrical, Electronics and Telecomunication Engineering that belong to european universities, and schools or technological institutes. The association was founded in 1986 in Holand, and today twenty eight institutions from eighteen european countries are official members. EESTEC is an association in the sense that is defined by the 66ff article of the Swiss Civil Law, and has its base stablished in Zürich (Switzerland).

The EESTEC's main objective is to promote and develop international relationships and for students of Electrical, Electonichs and Telecommunications engineering to exchange ideas. Another goal is to present to the students the industry and the educational system that other countries have. In order to make that possible many activities have been developed.
Activities
EESTEC's engineering aspects are represented in the Workshops ( work reunions), in which during a time period of about a week, different specialists from industry and universities present conferences and seminars, and where group debates are held. The debate themes are usually about new technologies and specific fields of Electrical, Electronichal and Telecommunicattion engineering or social aspects of engineering.

The second type of activity are the Exchanges of groups of students of different countries, that last between one and two weeks. During the exchanges the aim is to help to obtain a deep knowledge of technical , educational and cultural aspects of other countries.

The third main activity is the Annual Congress that takes place in one of the member countries, EESTEC Congress. During this conference the General Assembly joins together, in which debates and decitions about EESTEC's organizational aspects are held.

In the same way other activity that pursues our objectives is possible in EESTEC, such as proyects or practics periods.
EESTEC structure
EESTEC is an Association of Educational Institucions belonging to European countries. Each member is represented by a Local Committee. A Local Committee of students of Electrical,Electronichs Engineering can be founded in every European University, School or Technological Institute, as a representative group of those students in the Association. Intern structure of Local Committies is of their own competence and is not centralized in any way.

Cooperation and contacts among members are coordinated by the elected Board, that represents EESTEC at international level and it works on the strategy and general development of the Association.

The official publication of the Association, The Newsletter is regularly published and it provides continously information between Committies. It also intends to acts as a mean of communication widely distributed among students of Electrical and Electronichal Engineering.

EESTEC advantages
What is the value of EESTEC's activities? A very positive aspect about them is the posibility to cooperate in a non strictly formal way with other students from different countries in Europe, this often creates international frienships. Other advantage is that participating in activities develops certain habilities, such as communication skills and management and improves language level. In general, EESTEC gives to the students a wider view and provides more internal posibilities and future responsabilites.
